Trying

Danny and I have been married for just about 2 years now. Well officially 2 years as of Monday. Ever since we've been married we've been living with family. Always. There has never been a time where we lived on our own. But this is not for lack of trying to get out on our own.

When we were dating Danny got a job working with Provident Bank. That was such a blessing because that's what we were waiting for so we could get married. As our wedding got closer, we started looking for apartments. As we were looking we realized, even with the both of us working we could not afford an apartment. We ended up having to live with Danny's parents. So right after we got married Danny started to look for other jobs.

First he started with the T.S.A. He did everything that was asked of him. He took the test for them and passed. Then the waiting game started. We were told it could take up to 6 months for someone to get back to us. 6 months came and went and nothing happened. So then we decided to go another route.

That's when we decided to go with the Military. Danny wanted to join the Air Force. He started to work out and eat better. When we went to talk to the recruiters they told Danny that for his height (6'2") he had to get down to 214 lbs. He worked out for months, and while he was losing weight we realized that it would just take way too long for him to get to that weight. While this was all happening we moved in with my grandparents. After we moved in with them we decided that Danny should join the Army instead. They just told him that he needed to lose 5 inches from around his waist. He was doing great, he lost 2 inches and then he got stuck. Nothing he was doing was working and it was really frustrating.

During all of this we noticed that Danny wasn't sleeping well. It was next to impossible to get him to wake up in the morning. I would shake him, yell at him, smack him and many other things and nothing would wake him up enough to get up and get moving. Because of this he started to miss working out. That, and the second he would get home and relax, he would fall asleep. So he made an appointment to see his doctor. We found out after a sleep study that Danny has a mild form of sleep apnea. Wow. That's explained a lot lol.

So here we are. We talked to a recruiter yesterday who told us he would get back to us on the sleep apnea thing. Danny is going to start working out again on Monday. As soon as we figure out what is going on and where we are going to end up I'm going to start school again. We are trying. It might not look like it to some people, but we are. We might have made a few mistakes along the way and we'll probably make some more, but that's just how it is sometimes. And we are so grateful for everything that we have. Especially for our wonderful family and friends that are supporting us. Hopefully things will start moving soon, but for the time being, we are trying.

Catch Up

Holy cows and a half I have a lot to catch up on.

Just to quickly say it, I have a Kindle now and I love it! I can't get enough of it. It's utterly amazing! I highly recommend them for readers.

Last month we went up to northern California to visit Danny's family. The main reason was so Danny could help fix his mom's car (which sadly wasn't able to be fixed), but it was really nice to see his family. First we went to his parents. After the car stuff we were just able to relax, go to the beach and just hang out with his family. It was fun to meet Bruce's girlfriend Lindsay. And my dear mother in law so very nicely gave me her Singer sewing machine from the 1950's. I can't wait to start sewing!

Then we got to go see Danny's sister Jennifer, her husband Jared and their amazing kids! I loved being able to see them because we don't do it often enough. I loved just hanging out with them and playing with Autumn and Austin. Jen and I discovered how we have almost the same decorating tastes. We bought the same things at the church bookstore. Plus we got to be up there for Jen's birthday! And I have to admit it was kind of fun watching Jared get in trouble =)

Our trip only lasted a little over a week and we were sad to go home. Everything was going well until about half way home when we got in a car accident. To make a long story short, the car in front of us stopped a little quicker than Danny anticipated. We bumped into them going about 15-20 mph, which would not have been too bad, but then the lady behind us hit us going about 40-45 mph which then slammed all of us into the car in front of the first lady. One thing I do have to admit is I am truly grateful that no one yelled and the first thing everyone did was make sure everyone else was ok. I was really shaken up, so I didn't even get out of the car. Unfortunately we got the worst of it. My bumper had to be taken off completely. So now we are in the process of getting my car fixed, which really kind of sucks, because now I don't have a car to go to and from work. Oh well.

Today we went with my family to a water park. I'm not such a strong swimmer but I still had fun! Danny had fun laughing at me when he was watching me try to swim. Ugh!

Well, that's all I have for today! I will try to get better at blogging. Love you all!
