Updates

Danny has been in school for over a month now and he is doing fantastic! He has aced all of his tests and is really enjoying school. It is hard that we don't get to see each other that often. He usually leaves for work sometime between 8 and 9 in the morning and he doesn't get home until sometime close to 1 in the morning. I try to stay awake, but sometimes I don't quite make it. But being away from each other so much makes us being together that much more special. I love the weekends or the few days off he has that we get to spend together.

So I'm about 15 weeks now. My nausea is slowly going away. It was pretty bad for a while and I had to be put on medication. I had a doctors appointment today and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat again. Hearing it always puts a huge smile on my face and it's really fun to see Danny's face light up. So far everything seems to be going great. We'll keep you updated!

New Beginnings

I wanted this to be a really fun and creative blog, but I have a massive headache, and I'm super tired.

Well, a lot has changed in the Butler household recently. Because Daniel has sleep apnea we decided the army wasn't the best choice for him. He has now decided to go to school at U.T.I. for diesel mechanics. He actually started tonight. He goes to work in the morning and then school from 7pm to midnight. It's going to be a rough 10 months, but we'll make it through. We're both really excited because we finally feel like we are moving in the right direction.

We have some other super exciting news. We're expecting!!! It was a total surprise, and totally unplanned, but it's a blessing and we are really happy about it. I'm almost 11 weeks and my due date is May 3. Everything seems to be going great. I am feeling sick, and I seem to have no energy, but hopefully it will end soon. We are super excited and can't wait to meet our little one! Sorry this is so short!

Trying

Danny and I have been married for just about 2 years now. Well officially 2 years as of Monday. Ever since we've been married we've been living with family. Always. There has never been a time where we lived on our own. But this is not for lack of trying to get out on our own.

When we were dating Danny got a job working with Provident Bank. That was such a blessing because that's what we were waiting for so we could get married. As our wedding got closer, we started looking for apartments. As we were looking we realized, even with the both of us working we could not afford an apartment. We ended up having to live with Danny's parents. So right after we got married Danny started to look for other jobs.

First he started with the T.S.A. He did everything that was asked of him. He took the test for them and passed. Then the waiting game started. We were told it could take up to 6 months for someone to get back to us. 6 months came and went and nothing happened. So then we decided to go another route.

That's when we decided to go with the Military. Danny wanted to join the Air Force. He started to work out and eat better. When we went to talk to the recruiters they told Danny that for his height (6'2") he had to get down to 214 lbs. He worked out for months, and while he was losing weight we realized that it would just take way too long for him to get to that weight. While this was all happening we moved in with my grandparents. After we moved in with them we decided that Danny should join the Army instead. They just told him that he needed to lose 5 inches from around his waist. He was doing great, he lost 2 inches and then he got stuck. Nothing he was doing was working and it was really frustrating.

During all of this we noticed that Danny wasn't sleeping well. It was next to impossible to get him to wake up in the morning. I would shake him, yell at him, smack him and many other things and nothing would wake him up enough to get up and get moving. Because of this he started to miss working out. That, and the second he would get home and relax, he would fall asleep. So he made an appointment to see his doctor. We found out after a sleep study that Danny has a mild form of sleep apnea. Wow. That's explained a lot lol.

So here we are. We talked to a recruiter yesterday who told us he would get back to us on the sleep apnea thing. Danny is going to start working out again on Monday. As soon as we figure out what is going on and where we are going to end up I'm going to start school again. We are trying. It might not look like it to some people, but we are. We might have made a few mistakes along the way and we'll probably make some more, but that's just how it is sometimes. And we are so grateful for everything that we have. Especially for our wonderful family and friends that are supporting us. Hopefully things will start moving soon, but for the time being, we are trying.
